The ‘NAG Lens’
Over the last several years the Board of Trustees has developed a tool called the ‘NAG Lens’ to guide their decision making around policy development. For each of the National Administration Guidelines (NAG’s), the Board has developed a guiding statement. This over-arching statement provides the ‘lens’ through which the effect and implication of any proposed changes can be viewed.
The ‘NAG lens’ also provides a very clear indication of the Board’s core beliefs in relation to each of the guidelines.
NAG 1: Curriculum & Student Achievement
To ensure the Board of Trustees meets its legal obligation to deliver the curriculum, and its moral obligation to ensure that this is done by means of best teaching practice, addressing the holistic needs of the child. This will ensure that all students have the best possible opportunities to achieve. In addition the Board of Trustees will strive to nurture and sustain the sense of fun and innovation that makes Laingholm Primary School so special.
